Wanting to make a Birthday Cake for my sister a few days ago, I searched online for a chocolate cake recipe with bananas in it but was unable to find one. So I winged it and have to say it came out excellent. The cake was very moist. The chocolate and banana combination is of course, delicious.
Ingredients:
2 cups flour (all-purpose)
1 cup white sugar
1 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
pinch of salt
2 eggs (beaten)
1 cup warm water
1+ cup warm milk
1/4 cup melted butter (unsalted)
1/4 cup oil (canola)
3+ diced bananas
1. Mix together all the dry ingredients.
2. Warm milk and melt butter at medium heat in a saucepan.
3. Combine the remaining ingredients. Everything except the bananas.
4. Mix until smooth.
5. Transfer to baking pan.
6. Add bananas. Spread them out evenly.
7. Bake in the oven at 325 C for about an hour.
8. Check to make sure it's baked (I use a toothpick).
9. Let cool.
Done.
Even better with ice cream.
